Semester Snippets

Fall '20

Semester 1

My first semester at college was very exciting and eye-opening. I joined many organizations, made new friends, found a community, and learned a LOT about time management. I also have a better idea of what I want to do for a career. I did my best to make the most of my time in Gainesville and form meaningful connections, even though many things were still virtual. I'm excited to see what I'm going to learn next, and I'm looking forward to everything my future holds.

Semester 2

So many new opportunities this semester! Woah!
I loved my classes, had great mentors in clubs and design teams, and got my first internship. Can't wait to see where we go from here.

Semester 3

NASA was incredible! I loved the passion and the excitement that everyone approached their projects with. I could talk forever about how much I loved my time here, and I can't wait to come back.

Semester 4

This semester was difficult, but I had supportive friends and mentors who were able to help me through it.
I also got to see Artemis I rollout! Woah!

Semester 4.5 (?)

This was an incredibly transformative and exciting 3 three months of my life, and I completely owe it to the inspirational people that decided to stick by my side in Houston. I learned a lot about not only software development and ISS operations, but also myself, my goals, my impact on others, and chess.

Semester 5

Started off strong by breaking my dominant arm! Woo!
Remained steadfast and optimistic throughout the semester, and accomplished some pretty awesome things! In addition to having an excellent semester academically, I gained machining experience, SAW ARTEMIS I LAUNCH, and became a Brooke Owens Finalist.

Semester 6

Best rotation at NASA yet! I worked harder than I ever have before and really enjoyed the projects and work environment in JSC's Crew and Thermal Systems Division. Working with NASA's commercial partners--SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Pioneer Astronautics, to name a few--and getting to chat with astronauts during Space Station Airlock Testing runs was so cool!! This was another growth-oriented semester, and I'm so grateful for all the memories from it.
This was the last rotation my cohort--who have been my best friends since 2021--was together at JSC. The end of the semester was both exciting and bittersweet, and I'm looking forward to seeing what all my friends do with their futures.

Semester 6.5

Worked for a startup in D.C., gained some new perspectives on the aerospace and tech industries, and learned a lot about how these companies are supported by the government
